DoubleBack Xtreme Pack 2.0

This is without a doubt, the most important piece of equipment that I have with me when I go saddle hunting. I have tried numerous different brands of packs that were supposedly meant for those who have climbing sticks and saddles and platforms. Those other packs inevitably were ruined somehow someway by the climate sticks for the saddle or just the sheer weight of all of those things and this pack was the only one that has with stood and made much easier trekking out to a tree miles into the forest. There are so many great details that I love about this pack, and I guess we could start with the pouch near the bottom. There is so much room in this pouch that you could put your sticks in there if they are all stacked up, which I think is very, very useful as you see from my pictures. That’s exactly what I did here. Moving up the pack on the backside you have a sliding strap which is very handy for different set ups or if you had an extra piece of gear that you wanna put on there the straps themselves have an elastic tie so those of us in the military would be familiar with this concept. Basically you can set up your straps to whatever is comfortable for you and then roll this up and secure everything on a little elastic band that way there’s nothing hanging off of you. The shoulder straps are quite comfortable with ample padding. The zippers feel and sound as though they are gliding when you zip them, which I really appreciate. Great pack for saddle hunting! I like to pack everything imaginable in my pack. Was able to put my platform, 4 sticks and all my outer layers, bibs, jacket and a vest. As well as gloves hat, kill it, snacks etc you name it. Comfortable to carry everything and biggest thing is it’s silent. Pockets lay out great and plenty of lash points. If you’re on the fence don’t hesitate to buy!

Had some shooters come in behind me the night before harvesting this nice buck with my bow. Decided to put my new packpack to the test - loaded down with all my clothes and loppers and ropes. Carried a climber in my hands with everything else on my pack, walking 500 yards back into the woods on Halloween with string gusts hiding my noise. Climbed up the tree, made a set, shot this nice buck. I've never used a backpack until this year and I'll never go back!

Some drawbacks to the pack: I wish the back was slightly wider as my clothes are all XLT and it's hard to stuff it into the pack sometimes. Zippers and clips are very hard to use one-handed. Older folk won't like how stiff they are. COS, I recommend y'all use the same zippers Asio uses. Would be quieter and easier to open one-handed. I also wish I could get the hip straps out easier, but that's no big deal.
