Ordered an Xl due to Large was little short and tight on the sleeves. Customer service to swap out was a breeze. Worn once so far with merino base layer and was never cold on a all day sit in 21° with 12 mph winds. Very pleased with this jacket and matching bibs.

I purchased the first version of this parka in 2024. Having used it through two season I can say without any hesitation that this is the finest hunting garment I have ever owned. It's more like a shelter than a jacket. I used it this past weekend while hunting in 19 degrees with extreme winds of 30+ mph. It's easy to see this piece solely as a late season garment, but you can use it for a majority of bow season in the upper Midwest by using less underneath it. I wore it on a 50 degree day with a tee shirt underneath. COS is on their game with this one. I think that I will be adding the bibs this off-season to be truly untouchable in the cold. Thanks COS for the great designs.

Needed a new late season jacket- did my research and settled on the cold fall sub extreme. My first all day sit in mid 20s the other day and I was blown away. So impressed in fact that I just bought the bibs and am going to hang up my king of the mountain bibs. Well done guys. Well done.

I debated back and forth on whether to get the ColdFjall parka and bibs or the same set in the Zone7 Dialed In line. Since I get colder more easily as I get older (I'm 61) I decided to err on the side of caution.
I live in southwest Missouri and do most of my hunting in the southern half of the state. It seems we rarely have long stretches of cold weather anymore, but I have been on stand when it was in the teens and 20s. I am 5' 9" and weigh around 210 pounds - I'm an average built man with a belly. I shoot a longbow and am always concerned about my clothing interfering with my draw. I was told by the COS staff to get my parka and bibs in a size Large, so I did.
I hunted in the set for the first time this morning. It was 34 degrees when I walked out the door. I had a midweight merino base layer on, top and bottoms, rubber boots, and the bibs. I strapped the parka to my 20# climbing stand and carried it, my tree stand pack, quiver, and longbow about 1/8 mile to my hunting spot behind the house. I was warm when I arrived, but not too bad. I got the stand hooked to a tree, threw the parka in the seat, and ascended. After I got settled, I put the parka on and zipped it shut.
I hunted for about 3 hours in a slight north wind and was never cold or even chilly. In colder weather, I always have a glove on my bow hand, but only have a shooting glove on my string hand. Obviously, my string hand gets cold, but those fleece lined pockets on the parka helped out a lot! It didn't take…
